Congress Michaud Attends the Ceremonial
Opening of the Veteran's Medical Facility in Houlton

There are plenty of reasons for Mike Michaud to work for Maine’s 155,000 veterans in Congress, but Mike only needs one reason – his duty as a Congressman to honor those who sacrificed for our freedom.

In 2003 Mike was selected to serve on the Veterans' Affairs Committee.  From the beginning,  Mike realized there was more talk than action when it came to supporting our veterans.  The Department of Veteran's Affairs was severely underfunded, and the conditions at Department of Defense facilities like Walter Reed were deplorable.  Maine's veterans were traveling hundreds of miles for routine health care services.  Mike saw it was time for change.  Since being elected to Congress, Mike has compiled a record of success for Maine's veterans.
